Ok ive basically given up on the idea of trying to prove which class's are and arn't making money instead ive publish my general daily sales across all my crafters, this isnt a test of any kind and making it fair is totally impossible but if your feeling nosey take a look, theres a link on the right hand side of the page.

Hopefully by taking a look what i sell on a daily basis some of you might get some ideas of what could help your own sales and hopefully you guys might have some suggestions for me too. My armourer and weaponsmith are suffering the most atm it's getting the rares at a decent price i struggle with .. atm it seems all the armourers and weaponsmiths on my server are determined to sell the items for under what the rares them self sell for.

As promised i did some grinding today and i re-stocked my vendor, my armour crate is now 100 % full which is a good thing.

Current cash : about 3p 50g ( forgot to write down the exact figure)

Still not having any real trouble , i managed to buy sme of the more expensive advanced books which is where most of my cash went. The rest mostly went on re-stocking my rare stock and of course on the grind it self.

As im doing a daily market report for all my class's now im going to have to make bookies report daily ... to do my reports i use my logs and i tend to delete them at the end of the day so it jsut makes more sence to do them all together.

ok as people are still listening to me waffle i thought you'd all got bored and given up ill carry on :P

I am however gonna be mean and cut bookworm down to one box, i really nead the space and the few gold box2 gives me from bags and clothing really isn't worth the money it's losing me.

Im also working on way to use the pages i created for the "who's not making money blog" into a full sales report for myself showing all my sales across the class's. It's not going to be a "test" as such because it simply would never be a fair one ... my crafters are such different levels and i dedicate more time to certain ones so it would be more like a "day in the life" of my vendors ... the problem im having is working out how to divide my boxes up ... amt they are all a mess mixed in with each other and unfortunatly thats gonna make it all very hard to track each crafter seperatly tbh i don't even know which ones making the most money right now lol

So any suggestions would be welcomed :P

right now i have 2 vendors 1 good and 1 evil both with the 6 slot houses ( 5 slots on the good side if you take bookworms slot out of the equasion ) ... i can't really just give each crafter one box to sell from as i have 8 crafters and you can't compare good/evil sales they really arn't comparable .. so i need all 8 crafters represented on each side.

I do sell very varing amounts i sell mostly food/drink and the least weapons suprise suprise ... not im gonna test to see if i can drop my sales logs from both charecters into one file as that should make it easier to make a report .. still leaves it quite hard to see at a glance which adept 3 was sold was an sage/ jewellar or alchamist one though :( but everything else should be straight forward enough.

What do you guys think?

Ok interest seems to have tailed off abit, and i think thats mostly due to the fact that the test is pretty much over, as much as bookworms out 36th level she has money of her own and her wares are selling comfortably.

Im thinking about calling an end to the test as i feel ive proven all i need too... the tough part was always going to be the early levels when she had no money and needed to buy her books and raws.

I could continue running the test till she hit 70th but tbh im not sure theres much point she's doing fine and im sure theres not much that could go wrong now that would prevent her grinding to 70th.

However ill leave it for you guys to decide if you want me to continue i can, either way ill be grinding bookworm to 70th at some point but id kinda like my vault slots back :p

Didn't do much grinding this week things have been fairly hectic for me with the kids on summer break i am still 35th lvl and i tried to do some grinding but the price of raws has been horrid and feyiron has infact turned to gold and vanished off the broker compleatly, which is kinda a shame as every last one of my bags has been sold this week.

Im not sure what you guys think but i think this test has gone fairly well, dispite the odd hickup i can't imagine how things could go wrong now.. im confident that bookworm is self sufficent and able to tackle the world head on as a pure crafter.

Prices of roots where horrid over the weekend and are still pretty high now im manage to buy a few enough to get my to 33rd maybe alittle further. Tried out a couple of the new recipes and bookies now sporting the wedding dress and looks like a little angel ... awwww.

Wih the new containers i seem to have more room than i know what to do with, id like to buy a salesman crate for the 2nd slot for bags/hex dolls etc but the prices of them and the wood are still abit insane atm.

Plans for the day - with the current prices of roots im not sure much grinding is going to happen however As you can see my rosewood box is totally empty atm it had a few bags in it but they all sold over the weekend so my plan is to generally stock up .. gonna make a ton of bags once i hit 33rd and get the recipe for etched .. if i can get some roots and it's likely that will ding me to 34th but generally my plan for the day is to have a good old sort out and re-stock.

Ok ive manage to grind my way to 32nd level im tiny bit away from 33rd but it happened the unthinkable .... i ran out of roots "again" .. sigh....

Ive been keeping another eye out on the broker but it's the weekend and the chances of finding roots today is next to none :( so it looks like im gonna have to wait till monday to get my level.

The New Consignment System hit splitpaw yesterday and ive swapped out most of my mains boxes for the new ebony boxes .. poor old bookworm is not so lucky however :( however i did invest in some ceder for her before the patch in anticipation of the huge price jump of rare wood and was able to get a carpenter to make her the new armour rack so she's now selling from one rosewood box and one ceder armour rack... not to shabby ... means i can prolly keep hold of more of the comman gear than i could afford space to previously.

Ive been logging in regually over the last few and checking the prices of tussar roots the average price for them seems to settle around 15s each , quite abit more than i would like to be paying but i'll cope.

So every time i find some below that price ive been buying them up ready for today when i try and push another couple of levels... i think the trick to buying your harvests for expensive harvests is to keep your eye's on the market, eventually someone will price some at a rate you can afford.

Like today for example, i log in first thing and i find 6 stacks of tussar roots at less than 6s each go me :P If like me you try and do most of your crafting with vitality theres really no harm keeping an eye out for the raws you need even on days you waiting for vitality to build up.

im 30th level and going into todays crafting with 8 stacks of Tussar Roots ready to rock.

Ok feeling the need to vent, kinda getting sick of the doom and gloom crew on the fourms especially those who think it's totally impossible to be a pure crafter.

As you know i view myself as a pure crafter and i think i do ok .. not only that but so far i really think this test is going well and id like to think it proves a point, i know not everyone will find building up a pure crafter easy i have hit a few bumps along the way myself it would be especially difficult for the new player comming into EQ2 after all at least i can draw upon my experience of the markets and the system.

Im not a huge fan of the changes but i dont think it's doom and gloom the end of crafting and ill be the first to admit some of the changes plain old suck!!! I do struggle to see why the changes where even needed ... i kinda like the removal of subs as making them was plain old tedious and it means i can craft lower tier gear for mates without hassle.

I hate what they have done to the stats on armour and weapons etc ... i hate that comman crafted is totally unwanted now and that rare is only concidered "fill in" gear untill quested or mob drop replacements are found but it's still selling in moderation.. i wouldn't buy it but i guess someone must.

I would love to see a relationship between crafters and adventures where both where equaly dependent on the other without adventures we have no one to sell too and without us they are limited in choise.

Adventurers kill and do quests to earn money ... bringing money into the system.
Adventurer needs gear so buys from crafter .. transfering cash to crafter.
Crafter needs money and raws ... money is got from adventurers buying crafted items.
Raws are gained by either harvesting ( high risk if low level ) or buying off adventures giving them back the money so they can re-spend it our shops.

It used to be that adventurers where Too dependent on crafted gear more than we were dependent on them this caused an imbalance that lead to ..

adventure = Poor
crafter = Rich

in trying to restore the balance they seem to have turned on it's head adventurers no longer need or want our stuff meaning it really has little to no value so the opposite has happened... dont get me wrong people will still buy it but youve practically throw it at them for next to nothing to get them interested.

I would love to see a system where crafted gear is slightly better .. it should be desirable but not the only choise give the adventurer alternatives to pick from such as quested if we price out gear too high ... after all we dont want to go to previous imbalances where it was adventurers only option...

I love the new "specific" stat set crafted gear ... perhaps that could be the benifit of buying player made over mob dropped gear ... you can get gear with the stats you want in all the right places the gear it's self just needs to be slightly better than it is now.. or make the mob dropped comparable gear rarer so it doens't steal so much of the market.

Dont get me wrong im still making plenty of money but i have had to change my tactic's somewhat , ive gone from being someone who was always fairly ruthless when it came to the markets game and turned into a monster stepping on any crafter that gets in my way in order to sell my stuff ... im not sure i like having to go to these lengths.. i guess im starting to feel abit sorry for all the other crafters im causing trouble :(

People are always resistant to change and i really hope things settle and people start buying crafted gear in large quantitys again.... i have faith i can adapt to market changes but will the market like me when im finnished.

Ok ive cleared out my earning out of my boxes and took a look at what needs replacing, im gonna spend a short time this morning making sure Box 1 the one i usually dedicate to rare items is full after all the most important thing is to keep the cash flowing if i run out of money and stuff to sell im gonna be in real trouble.

Box 2 isn't doing so well in T2 i found alot of the common gear sold pretty well however in T3 there was alot more competition from other tailors and when items did sell they are often barely above what the vendor will give me so im not sure it's worth the hassle. So im debating compleatly abandoning selliing the comman gear and stepping up my twink market somewhat.

Which of course leaves be back at the problem of getting hold of the rare books i still really don't have any decent recipes for T3. Ive got 40% vitality and after ive filled my vendor slots ill see if money allows me to do an real grinding today, but looking at the current T4 root prices which are are in the 15 -20s each range im not sure thats gonna happen.

Ok for those of you who think im giving up .. belive me im not ... yes updates are getting slower :P but thats mostly due to the fact that being "untwinked" it's now getting to the point that it's really unfiesable to craft without vitality. Simply put it costs too much for raws for me to use them without vitality.

I finnally reached 30th level yesterday, i haven't removed any money from my vendor in a few days really i dont see the point till i start getting low on cash so my sales reports will be done as and when i remove the cash at a glance i seem to have made about 80g over the weekend, but my boxes are starting to get alittle low on stock. Tommorrow ill have to re-stock my rare gear even if i decide not to exp grind.

Price Gouging

I suppose i could be classed as your classic price gouger my prices aimed for the twink markets are extremely high. Many people see people like me as "Evil Traders" trying to rip people off. My opinion though is that its not as such the fault of the trader that the prices are high. After all if people didn't pay them they would come down fast enough.

Honestly in real life this is seen all the time. Do you honestly believe when you buy your brand name items over your cheaper alternatives there as much of a difference in quality of the product as the price suggests ??

What you are paying for in truth is nothing more than the brand name. The price for these brand name items it high because people will pay it.. What truly determines the price of an item is the amount of competition the item has and what the public are willing to pay. Hence my advice to those that think price gougers are evil ... look no further than the people willing to pay these prices.

Ok today i managed to grind upto 28th level, not doing to bad i got lucky on some belladonna so wasn't forced to go and do the unspeakable. T3 Advanced books are stupidly expensive and im really struggling to find any good ones , ive bought a couple but they dont have very good recipes in them , mostly bags and abit of cloth armour. Dandilion fibers for the rare armour seem to sell for almost as much as the armour it self so i dont anticipate very good profits there.

As for lvling i got 1.8 levels last night but yet again i ran out of roots .... Grrrrr .. but im now 26th very almost 27th level.

The roots and pelts shortage is becoming a serious issue, it's slowing me down to practically a stand still, im really starting to think i might have to venture back out into TS and harvest them myself * sob *

I managed to buy 2 of the advanced books for T3 each costing my alittle over 5g .. but unfortunatly both only had cloth armour recipes in them and the dandilion fibers where alittle over priced in my opinion.

I couldn't be happier with the sales last night, it seems someone decided to kit out there twink and bought out several peices of my rather over priced twink armour. Concidering i paid less than a gold for each of the cured pelts im very happy.

Monday morning, i didn't do very well yesterday but i expected that i never seem to do that well on my vendors on a sunday i guess people buy everything they need for the weekend on friday/saturday and just hit the exp zones sunday.

Ok i gave in .. lack of space was driving me nutts, so i bought 2 rosewood strongboxes costing me 10g each, it was a huge chunk of my money but i think long term it will pay off, giving me more room to sell, with the additional benifit of bieng albe to use my old boxes in my bank.

After forking out for the boxes i hit the broker looking for root, pelts and carbonite, i already had some but i knew i would need alot more to make any kind of leveling possible today, and i wanted to look for them nice and early.

My time as a crafter have taught me to always look for ( hard to get or expensive ) raws as early in the day as possible or very late at night as most harvesters return home after a day of harvesting putting there stuff up for sale just before bed. If you wait to long all the cheap stuff sells and by the time prime time hits the only raws left are very expensive.

Ive manage to grind out 2 levels today hiting 24th level but not without a price, todays crafting has cost me, and from the money I had this morning im down to 6g. I realise this sounds bad but im not the type to harvest i hate it with a passion i never intended to harvest all my raws, ill do it when i have no other option. It cut's into my profit margins with out a doubt however i make comman stuff with the perpose of leveling and i accept a loss on it when i vendor, when i sell this stuff via the broker im still not that consern with it it's sold for a profit as such, more that it sells for less of a loss than vendoring any profit is just a bonus. It my rare sales that bring in the profits that really finance my crafting.

During todays crafting i bought some yarrow and made some T1 rare armour, and although i vendored most of what i made for exp i did retain a few peices to fill out my new and shiny rosewood boxes.

Ok today im going to take a good look at what i have left in stock before i make anything new, i don't want to be stuck with too many of the same items .. mostly im looking at what i dont have " ie what has sold" so i can make more of those.

I got lucky this morning and found some cheap belladonna / boiled pelts on the market so i spent alittle cash to buy those which will save me some harvesting time so i hope to get 2-3 levels today.

With yesterdays sales minus this mornings purchases it brings my cash on hand to 40g 93s with 1d 2 hours played .. My boxes really dont need much made up to fill them so im going to consentrate my time on Exp grinding .. most of while ill sell back to the vendor due to space restrictions. Im at the point now where im seriously debating going mad and buying 2 rosewood boxes.

I didnt do that much yesterday as i didn't get online an awful lot, it was my mum's 50th Birthday ... "happy birthday mum"but i did manage to get to 21st lvl making up all the rare stuff i had bought.

I am seriously having space issues, ive had to remove most of the raws i was trying to sell on my vendor and destroy them, keeping only those that hold a reasonable value to make space for more valuable items im trying to sell.

Id say my box's hold about 50/50 rare/comman gear right now.... as i progress this will change as i tend to favor rare gear over comman.

I bought quite a few T1 rare pelts etc to make up into armour yesterday waxed pelts on my server cost just a couple of silver each and the armour sells for 2-5g each which even with the cp's you spend on fuel is a decent profit.

As you work though a tier if you find items that sell well don't stop making it just because you leave the teir, Ive always found it's worth making to lower teir items if they are good sellers , as crafters move on they tend to forget the older tiers and i find as the competition is lower than in the higher teirs you can make a much larger profit margin... it all go's back to my theory that the "twink market" has more money than sence. Making lower tier stuff is even easier with the changes so make those changes work for you.

In the begining everything i sold was priced to sell , rare or comman it made no difference.. all my stuff was cheap. I had to do this as in the first few days i needed money and i needed it now!!!!

A few days later my prices are starting to change although i still need money im not worried about selling stuff on a hourly basis. Im creeping the price of my rare items upward aiming to sell them to the rich twink crowd who i have discovered though many years playing crafter's in various games are willing to spend INSANE prices on items even if their charecter will only wear it a few days at most.

My comman gear is still priced to sell ... i make so much of it i need it to sell as fast as possible to make room for the next ton of stuff im churning out. Ive found theres no point pricing comman gear at high prices as those that twink wont look at it anyway and those forced to look at it due to money constraints will buy crappy dropped gear rather than pay over the odds for a marginally better piece of crafted gear.

I know some will argue the they think dropped gear is better than crafted these days i would argue however that with the new ranges of crafted with various "stat sets" it makes it easier for the player to maximise the stats they need for there class. Players are inherenty lazy and most would prefer to type a keyword into the search window of a set of armour they know will have the stats they are looking for than spend hours trolling though the lists and lists of dropped gear to find the bits they need.

All in all i suppose you could say my comman gear is priced for the newbie to get rid of it quick , and my rare gear is priced insanly for the twinks, it might not sell fast but when it does my pockets will feel better for it.

Ok ive pretty much made the decision to empty my boxs of money once per day, keep things simple. It means you guys can keep a better track on how much im making.

Not much point me linking my daily consigned sales as with all the spam from my other other boxes you'd never work out what i sold. To keep you guys filled in ill do a rough rundown of stuff i sell daily and ill put some images up of the 2 box's so you can see at a rough glace the kinds of stuff im selling and the kinds of prices im asking.

This morning i only had 18g in one box the second box was totally empty * sulk * .. yesterday/ overnight i sold a few raws about(1g 96s worth). Machinist bloomers (T1 rare for 5g) , tanned backpack (T2 20s) , burlap slippers, gloves (T2 comman 50s each) , Tanned boots (T2 comman 50s) roughspun cuffs, slippers ( T2 rare 5g each ) .

Plans for the day ... dunno what lvl ill reach today, weekends are funny things in the crafting world i find. With so many people online raws go though the roof, but sales tend to be pretty good.

Ive managed to buy 6 cured pelts for bettween 40s -90s each off the market + 2 pelts i got harvesting and one of my first jobs is to turn them into armour, the leather stuff doens't sell as well as the cloth due to pure numbers. Simply there are not the number of class's that can wear leathers compared to cloth. Sisal roots are 6g each on the broker atm .. i got one yesterday while harvesting and although im tempted to buy one as the cloth sells quite well it would be quite a chunk of my money.

Ive spent some more money this morning on belladonna roots that where reasonably cheap, and a couple more Advanced outfitter books, i find the key with the books is to just keep checking back and only buy them when they are cheap.. dont even attempt to buy them at high prices just wait for them to turn up at a low price. Ive now got Advanced Outfitter Volumes 10, 11, 12, 14 and 18... i think the most expensive one cost 1.2g

Got a few other raws harvesting yesterday the only other one thats any use to me is a blackened iron .. which i will make something out of ... the rest is broker bound.

Lastly for those that are interested im upto 21 hours on bookworm now and im going into todays crafting with 12g to my name.

Ok i managed to succeed in todays goals, i ended up having to spend a good chunk of my money buying T2 roots but i got what i aimed for which was 20th lvl ... im a tailor now!!!! yay.

I took a look at the belladona prices .. gulp.... this is gonna hurt. so i spent some time harvesting getting the required skills for harvesting T3.. as right now i can't afford to buy the roots .. to much cash spent on T2 roots unfortunatly.

Just before i called it for the night i pottered about TSteppes harvested alittle.. died alot :p but got an idea of the difficulty.. tbh it doens't look any harder than T2.

Atm im still harvesting more than buying off the broker but i top up on the ingredients im short if i have enough of all the rest. Ill admit i did far more armouring than tailoring in T2 but thats because i got aot of iron while harvesting and i wanted to use as much of what i had as possible to save money.

Looking at my vendor i seem to have made about 14g today but i can't be bothered transfering it till the morning after i get my overnight sales.

This is proving to be quite easy so far. The biggest challenges are getting the advanced books and the roots as tailors use in insane amounts and they sell for even more insane prices, other than that its not been too bad. I've been pleasently suprised by how much im selling even the comman armour seems popular if you price it reasonably.

Vendoring

Something else i wanted to mention was about my vendoring... just so there’s no confusion. I am actually selling everything on my main trader still ... for obvious reasons it's totally unfeasible for me to compleatly quit my normal activities... i make 5-10pp per day and i aint losing that lol :p

Basically what i have done is assigned 2 of my normal vault slots to bookworm..as that’s how many she would normally have in a newbie house. My main has a 6 slot house so i can afford to give up 2 slots. I took out the rosewood boxes i had in there and replaced them with the 2 boxes i bought with bookworm... literally THE ONLY stuff that will go into those boxes will be from Bookworm to keep things simple.

Bookworms on my other account and i can simply pass over the items for sale as and when needed, the way the new broker system works makes it easy to manage you are forced to take your money out of each box seperatly. making it really easy to keep track of how much i need to pass back to bookworm.. literally ill only remove the cash from the box's as and when bookworms standing ready to receive it...

ARGH .... ran out of roots and had to spend ages harvesting again... i sware the root nodes are hiding from me .. and when i do find them they are determind to only give me on root per harvest. came back after spending 1 hours harvesting with almost 2 stacks each of the comman raws and only 22 roots .... :(

People wonder why i hate harvesting at least when i buy the raws off the broker if i need 200 roots i can buy 200.... grumble grumble. Anyway spent the morning crafting got myself to 18th ... finnally was able to make myself 2 tanned bags to fill my last slots.

Ok just got up and im in the middle of my first cup of coffee... growl.... ( im terrible without coffee. Im sure its as much required for life as oxygen)

Logged on bookworm , firstly i seem to have to 2 slots now for selling? the last 2 days i seem to have been limited to 1 for some reason... freaky... i have to admit i did think the newbie houses where supposed to start with 2 .. i guess i was abit bugged patch musta fixed it.

My biggest supprise was in the hours while i was sleeping i have sold 10g's worth of stuff ... go me!!!

Most of what i have sold is all my leftover t1 roots and a couple of the T1 rare crafted items, however my biggest supprise comes from the 4 comman T2 items i sold i priced them at 50s each but tbh i didn't expect any of these to sell i figured id end up vendoring them. I never sell comman stuff on my main.. well unless you count food/drink, every slot is pretty much reserved for at least mastercrafted stuff so i didn't have a clue if comman stuf would sell... i asumed not with all the talk on the fourms about about how crap this stuff is... oh well i guess someones desprate :p

Anyway it gives my 14g to play with now and has given me abit of a confidence boost ill admit i was starting to worry yesterday when i saw the rare book prices... today i want to hit 20th lvl... shouldn't be hard only 4 lvl's to go :)

My main expenditures for the morning are a 2nd briarwood strongbox (90s) , 2 boiled packbacks ( 40s each ) i tried to go for bags/boxes that gave me the most space for my money. I didn;t want to go for anything too cheap as id be replacing it too fast. It seemed after these sizes there was quite a big price jump,they arn't great but good enough to start.

Also i found advanced outfitters 10 (90s) and 14 (1g20s ) and i made the rare root and pelt up into 2 sets of boots, priced them at 10g each lets see if they sell...

I think the thing to remeber is that as a newbie entering an established game your not under the same finanical pressure as when you start in a brand new game. I remeber when i first started leiela.. game had just been released and at 15th lvl thinking my mate was fantastically rich cause he had 30s to his name.

People moan about the fact that newbies can't afford to pay the rip off prices. While ill admit its pretty hard its in the same breath true that as the established player can focus on the "twink" market so can the newbie so it's easier to make money than it was when everyone was a newbie.

And lastly After popular demand ... my current time played on bookworm is14 hours. Most of which was spent harvesting T2 :)

Day 2

Ok hit the mainland and got 10th lvl and decided to go tailor after much debate, this is one of the few class's i don't currently have and with their "new armour" ( concidered utter rubbish by many ) and there insane consumption of some of the most expensive raws on the broker the dreaded root i decided it would give me a good challenge... if i can make this work i can make any class work.

I compleated the newbie finding a profession quest. It actually worked out to be very useful as i got my essentials books from it as well as a few silver in coin and a 10 slot harvest bags.

I bought a 20 slot box for my vendor slot and the first few of the 1-10 advanced books so i could turn some of my rares into sellable items , but i was only able to make up 4 peices before i ran out of money.... grumble grumble.

So ive stuck 4 waxed leather peices of armour on the vendor and ill see if they sell. i figure i only really need one peice to sell so i can continue so if none have sold towards mid evening i plan to go peddling around the newbie zones see if i have better luck going direct the customer.

TBH T1 stuff is always hard to sell as most people dont bother upgrading thre gear till 10th.. but as i said i only need one bit to sell to continue.

Day 2 continued....

Woot my 4 waxed items sold ... 2g each .. 8g in my pocket. ... you wouldn't belive how happy 8g could make me... i was able for the first time to buy a full stack of fuel.

I managed to turn the last of my rare raws harvested on the island into sellable products. Now i have 5g left and 10 rare items for sale... and i still have a good stock of T1 raws.

Even though im now 12th lvl ive decided to use up the last of my tier 1 raws rather than move to T2 crafting, the way i see it i have the T1 raws and moving to needing T2 raws brings a whole new set of problems so i might as well hold off on it as long as possible...

People have been asking me about why i sold the collection items to the vendor rather than sell them on the broker. although brokering is a valid stratergy i would have had to wait till i got off the island before i could broker them and i wanted to stay on the island as long as possible and i needed money for fuel immidiatly.

I didn't move off the island till i was lvl 9 AND my bag was 100% full of harvested raws, the reason for this is because it's so easy to harvest T1 raws on the island without agro i wanted to take full advantage.

Day 2 ... yet more.

Ok thinking of packing up for the evening, ive not spent the whole day on my new crafter but a good chunk.

Got bored half way though my T1 raws and decided to move onto T2, took a look at the broker .... eeeeeeeeeek ... 4s per root or pelt, iron glup 22s each ... way more that the armour it's self sells for.

So i set off for antonica skinning knife in hand. 4 hours and 3 million deaths later i think i should have the raws to get me though T2. Tbh though harvest T2 isn't that bad most of the mobs are avoidable sure those sneaky wolves creep up on ya occasionally and swallow you whole.. but hey it's only death right ;)

I got a couple of rares on my travels convienently ones i could use as a outfitter .. rare pelt and a root. Took a look at the broker to see if i could buy an advanced book to make them into something sellable unfortunatly the cheapest book was lvl 18 and 4g ... so it's gonna have to wait till i have the lvl and the gold hehe...

All the books i was actually capable of scribing where 20g + .... ARE PEOPLE INSANE .... nope unfortunatly not .. while theres people like the " normal me about" paying those prices people arn't gonna lower them. I guess i can only blame myself normally i wouldn't think twice about paying 20g for a advanced book for a alt.

So i resigned myself to making the comman gear and dinged 16th .. yay me ... got lots of raws and 3g so not doing too bad.... ive stocked up my vendor with the leftovers, of my T1 stuff and some raws i got in T2 i wont use, food stuffs and the like... really need some of it to sell my box is full... i might have to invest in a bigger box tommorrow ... only having one slot is killing me.

First step ... Create the charecter

Bookworm is Born on the Splitpaw Server ....

Day 1

Ok new charecter created.

My first step was to harvest as many raws as i could, focusing especially on the little glowy collection items which i sold to the vendor for fuel.

Once i had enough money for the fuel to make a couple of items i checked the zone to see who was in it and created items i thought might sell based on the population of the newbie zone.. which happened to be cloth / leather.

Once id spent all my fuel zoned back into the main zone and did some /OOC to try and sell some charge 50cp per item... while i /ooc'ed i havested some more.

Basically i kept doing this after creating every 2-3 items .. if the sold to a player great if not after a few mins i sold it to the vendor. Either way i got my fuel money back and could continue.

by the end of day one i have .....

hit level 9 , have a small collection of rares i can use when i get to the main island and have a total of 8s cash ... not great but hey ....

So far T1 is doable and i am making a profit ... perhaps not the 5-10pp a day i make on my main tradeskillers but certainly decent enough the newbie isn't stuck

off to bed lets see what tommorrow brings.

Ok lets start with abit about me :)

My names leiela im a rather obbsessive compulsive jewellar in EQ2... and incidentaly a real person ... shock horror .... Heres a picky from my guilds gathering last weekend .. im the girl in the middle sitting down. Just so my guild leaders dont shout at me id like to add radiance is the best guild on the server in this crafter humble opinion :P

Ive got many Tradeskill alts but i consider lei to be my main. I generally spend 12 hours a day crafting in EQ2 and from this and alittle specualtion on the markets ive managed to hit 13th position on my servers rich list... dispite leielas my main i would guess most of my money has come from provisioning.

I do have adventurer level's on leiela but i still consider my self a pure crafter.. each and every level i have gained has been under protest.. dragged out of the Ts instance by my guild... who are mean and evil to me :(

There has recently been some rather drastic changes to the EQ2 crafting system and as yet i am totally undecided if i like them or not... there is lot i like and a hell of alot i hate.

How this came about ??

One of the major debates currently raging on the forums is the viability of now being a PURE crafter and if it is infact possible to start as a total newbie to the game and succeed going down this path.

There is a ton of speculation on the fourms but most of the people doing the speculation had built up before LU 24 and in all honesty had no clue of playing a pure crafter from scratch was still viable.

Hence the challenge was set !!!!!!! can i create a brand new charecter and be a pure crafter without having to resort to twinking.

rules of the game...

1) i will not aid this charecter with money or raws from my other charecters.
2) i will not allow my guild to aid this charecter.
3) i will not take aid from anyone i suspect is aware of this challenge.
4) i will not play the markets with this charecter the all items she sells she must have created or harvested.
5) raws may be obtained via the markets or though harvesting.
6) i will not intentionally level this charecters adventurer levels although discoverery exp is allowed.
